Rumors about the imminent sale of a new generation of the popular Japanese frame SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado have been circulating for a long time, but at least no serious progress has been made in the project yet. However, it seems to be only a matter of time.
As it became known to Daily-Motor.Ru, which discovered new information about the next generation of the Land Cruiser Prado in the Japanese magazine Mag-X, the official premiere of the reformed SUV may take place in April 2024.
Как пишут инсайдеры этого издания, в Японии автомобиль получит название Land Cruiser 250 Series, но традиционное имя Prado должно сохраниться на экспортных рынках.
The SUV will be based on the modern TNGA-F modular platform, on which the Land Cruiser 300 was previously built, as well as the new Toyota Tundra and Sequoia.
It is assumed that the new Prado will be offered with a 2.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 270 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.
It is not yet clear whether this powertrain will replace the existing 2.7-liter 4-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine offered in Japan or become its alternative.
The new Land Cruiser Prado will also have a hybrid version, but it will be based not on a traditional fuel engine, but on a diesel engine. It is assumed that the average fuel consumption of such a power plant per 100 kilometers will be about 6.5 liters.
