Tesla's Gigafactory in Shanghai is churning out new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y vehicles at an astonishing rate, as shown in a new video recorded at the factory.
The reporter asks the relevant question to one of the employees who controls the assembly process. A Tesla employee mentions that the 45 seconds information that came up during the conversation is no longer true. Today, Tesla produces new cars in less than 40 seconds.
That production rate beats even Ford, which said in January 2023 that its pickup truck plant in Dearborn, Michigan, could produce an F-150 every 49 seconds.
At Tesla's gigafactory in Shanghai, dozens of robotic arms work in tandem to improve efficiency. The video shows how robots can assemble cars in different planes at the same time.
