In the United States, the local Civil Aviation Administration (FAA) has given a California startup permission to test the first electric vehicle that can not only drive on the road, but also fly.

The manufacturer was issued an airworthiness certificate and the go-ahead for test flights. It is also important to note that the permission granted is limited to the scope of the experiment.

This is the first aircraft that will drive on public roads and park like a regular car. At the same time, it will be able to take off and land vertically. The car will accommodate one or two passengers and cover a distance of up to 320 kilometers by land and another 180 by air.

However, on the highway the vehicle will not be able to reach a speed of more than 40 km/h. “If the driver needs higher speed, he will resort to flying,” the company said in a press release.
