Mazda will release its first original electric vehicle in 2027, according to CEO Masahiro Moro.

It is worth adding that Mazda began selling in 2021 an electric model of the MX-30 crossover, which was originally a hybrid. However, the Japanese automaker hasn't had an original electric vehicle yet.

Moreau also said the company will increase production of electric vehicles from 2028 and accelerate the development of high-quality electric equipment in collaboration with Toyota, its capital alliance partner.
