Volkswagen has introduced a new, third generation of the Tiguan crossover. In addition to the evolved appearance and a completely new interior, the all-terrain vehicle received a number of previously unused options. The engine range retained the traditional gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines, but also received three modified hybrid units. The new Tiguan will appear at European dealers in the first quarter of next year.
The length of the all-terrain vehicle has increased by about 3 centimeters, keeping other dimensions virtually unchanged. Nevertheless, a small increase made it possible to increase the cargo compartment by 37 liters at once - to a minimum of 652 liters.
Rechargeable hybrid units are capable of developing 204 or 272 hp. due to an improved electric motor. In addition, they are accompanied by a more capacious 19.7-kilowatt battery, which will provide an electric range of up to 100 kilometers.
The appearance of the crossover has been redesigned in the style of the latest new products from the brand, including the Passat station wagon. Modernization of aerodynamics made it possible to reduce the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.28. Wheels up to 20 inches are used, and the new optics can be matrix with 19,200 LEDs per block.
Inside the crossover there is a new media system with an improved voice assistant and a central screen with a diagonal of up to 15 inches. The gearbox selector has been moved to the front panel, thanks to which wireless charging and an original switch with its own mini-screen, the functions of which can be reassigned, have appeared on the central tunnel.
For an additional fee, especially comfortable ergoActive Plus chairs with four-position lumbar support adjustment and a 10-chamber massage function are available.
