Turkmenistan introduced rules for the licensing of owners of public buses carrying out passenger transportation services.

The Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Motor Transport) in its Tuesday announcement said the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan started licensing such activities.

To obtain the license, all legal entities of the country, regardless of their form of ownership, and entrepreneurs operating without forming a legal entity, must send by mail a package of documents listed on the agency's official website, according to the announcement.

The letter must include the phone number of sender. Every action taken by the Agency in connection with the issuance of the license will be sent to the applicant. Applicants can get information about admission to the licensed activity or the reasons for refusal on the official portal of public services – e.gov.tm.

The Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan was established in July last year. It controls Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmen Airlines), Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways), Türkmenaragatnaşyk (Turkmen Telecommunications), Türkmenawtoulaglary and Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Sea and River Routes) state agencies.
