President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the inspection of constructions around the capital launched the building of the Tejen-Mary section of Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway.
At the site, the Turkmen Leader got acquainted with the schemes of new highway routes, with detailed projects for the construction of facilities along the road and vehicle service stations.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylyjov and the Head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev briefed on construction of the highway and the relevant facilities along it.
The social facilities, car service areas and payment terminals will be built along this highway, which will improve road safety, according to the report.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov studied each of the projects and drawings, and made a number of comments and made appropriate amendments.
The construction of the 600-kilometer Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway started in January, 2019.
The project is planned to be implemented in three phases, the first section of the highway – Ashgabat-Tejen section – opened in October last year in a solemn ceremony with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The second section – Tejen-Mary – is expected to open this year, while the third section running from Mary to Turkmenabat will be commissioned in 2023.
