Turkmenistan to Require Mask Use Only in Transport, Confined Spaces

The specialists of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan proposed to drop mask use everywhere, except for all types of transport and confined spaces starting June 1.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, approved this proposal submitted by Sapardurdy Toyliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Government on science, education, healthcare and sports issues and Chairman of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases.

The Turkmen healthcare specialists came to this decision after thoroughly studying reports of the World Health Organization and analysis of media news about the pandemic’s weakening in the world and the gradual easing of preventive measures in most countries.

During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to continue the necessary measures to ensure the health of the people, and gave specific instructions to the relevant authorities in this regard.
