Turkmenistan to Study Construction of High-Speed Railway

The National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his working visit to the new administrative center of Ahal province - Arkadag city on Saturday stated the need to study the laying of high-speed railway lines from Arkadag to Ashgabat and Avaza National Tourist Zone, the country's official media reports.

The Halk Maslahaty Chairman pointed out that innovative technologies and best practices of developed countries should be actively applied when constructing high-speed railway lines.

The National Leader of Turkmen people also noted that the railway link connecting the city of Arkadag with Ashgabat and other cities of the country should meet the modern standards.

"Based on current experience, it is relevant to construct a canopy over the platform at the station. In this regard, attention should be paid to the installation of railings and escalators, taking into account the design of the buildings,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

During the visit to Arkadag city that is under construction, the Halk Maslahaty Chairman examined the project drawings and location sketches of the buildings and facilities planned to be built in the second stage of Arkadag city’s construction.
